Sydney Nabulya Kavuma, the reigning Miss Tourism Uganda, is set to participate in the Miss Tourism International Pageant in Malaysia this year.
The pageant is annual and usually has different tourism queens from around the world competing for the top title of Miss Tourism International.
The pageant that happened virtually last year in December due to the COVID-19 pandemic saw Jessy Wongsodiharjo from Indonesia crowned as Miss Tourism International.
This year, it is set to happen physically.
Different countries have sent their representatives to the Malaysian city of Sarawak where the Miss Tourism International grand finale will take place on 25th November 2022.
The dark-skinned Ugandan beauty queen Kavuma will be tussling it out with over 50 beauty queens.
The International pageant will this year celebrate 25 years of existence ever since the first Miss Tourism International event took place in Kuching, Malaysia.
Over 20 countries have won the international pageant ever since it founded 25 years ago.
The pageant attracts audiences from across the globe, and it has played a strong role in promoting the tourism potential of participating countries.
Uganda has never won the international pageant, but the country will be looking forward to rallying support for the country’s only participant this year.
