Let the PEARL SHINE

26th January is Liberation day in Uganda for the current government and it’s the day we had the set off to Kabale to launch the LET THE PEARL SHINE campaign, with the goal to clean up our Tourism Destinations in Uganda.
We set off from the Miss Tourism headquarter in Nalukolongo where we were flagged off by the Mr. Allan Kawooya, social media specialist for Miss Tourism Uganda and Miss Tourism Administrator Miss Nakato Prossy.

We set off from the Miss Tourism headquarter in Nalukolongo where we were flagged off by the Mr. Allan Kawooya, social media specialist for Miss Tourism Uganda and Miss Tourism Administrator Miss Nakato Prossy.

The trip had Mr. Lugya Ivan (Project Coordinator Miss Tourism Uganda) Kyasimiire Immaculate Shantel (2nd Runner up Miss Tourism Kigezi) , Moru Consolata (1st Runner up Miss Tourism Uganda) Mr.Rama Kizito TV Personality style project NTV ) and a Fashion Designer at Izi Bespoke. Miss Jokudu Gertrude 1st Runner up Miss Tourism Westnile and National Chaperone Miss Tourism Uganda and Mr. Jimmy who was in-charge of transportation. As we route to kabale we had the chance to have stop overs Historical sites like the Equator located at Nabusanke in Mpigi District which is where the Northern Hemisphere meets the Southern Hemisphere and the temperature is unusually higher along the equator line.

As we continue to the western we had a stopover at Lukaya market in Kalungu District where bites and refreshments are sold the Queens had the chance to sensitize the community there about the dangers of dirty environment and how it will reduce their income because people don’t have to stop in littered places to eat.

As we entered the region of milk and honey we had the chance also to clean at roundabout of Mbarara city with the statue of Kyasiina the famous Ankole long horn cattle and left for Kabale.
On arrival we were welcomed by our host, Mr. Parity of Hawks Eye Bunyonyi. Checked into our rooms and had dinner as we celebrated Liberation day with the locals.

The next day we kick started the day with breakfast and since it was market day at Lake Bunyonyi we launched the campaign at the market as we clean and sensitized the community talked and interviewed the locals and the chairman of the area. We engaged in activities like boat Canoeing, learning about the games that usually take place at the lake for example canoe racing.

We also had the chance to go live on Hills fm to let the general public know that we had to clean to get more tourists in Kigezi which will increase the income and job opportunities for the local people we ended the day with dinner in town courtesy of our host Mr. Parity Twinomujuni. We appreciate his generosity. Day three Set for Kampala.
